Our Valentine Party
My daughters Best Friend Casey came over for a play date today and I wanted to surprise them with a little Valentine Party. My budget was $25.00. I did most of my shopping at Target and had picked up Heart straws at Walmart a couple weeks ago. I was only having two little guests but you could still acheive the same party with a few more kids and skip the favor boxes for the same price.
This was a simple, easy party to do. I kept it low key since I was planning it the day before the party.
I hung tissue paper Pom poms for the light fixture in the kitchen that I had saved from my Best Friends Bridal Shower. But they are really easy to make. You can check out Martha Stewarts blog for them instructions on how to make them. Click here.
The banner came all in one piece but I found it too long to hang so I took it apart in three pieces which made it easier.
Target
Cookies - $3.00
M&M's - $2.50
Plates - $1.50
Stickers - $2.00
Dinosaurs - $2.00
Hippo Bowl - $3.00
Banner - $3.00
Placemats - $1.79 each
Favor Boxes - $1.00 each
Walmart
Heart Straws - $2.00
Grand Total
$24.58 Not bad!

I LOVE the color scheme. Perfect for a 2.5 yr old party!

For the favor boxes I cut out the work Love and glued it to white card stock - I made it look like an oversized tag and used tulle that I had in the house to make and wrapped it around the boxes.
The girls enjoying their party!

I came across this easy LOVE project by Pen N' Paper Flowers and just HAD to share it. The best thing is that you really do not need to be all that crafty to do it. I also love that it is not just for Valentines Day but something that can be enjoyed all year long!

Be sure to visit Pen N' Paper Flowers not only does she explain how she made this project but she also include (free) printables for you to use. I just may have to make one of these tomorrow for my cousin and surprise her with it when we go Wedding Dress shopping in New York over the weekend.

This project is really affordable too and of course I love that! You can do this project for around $7.00 - Now thats a good deal! Wooden Letters at Micheals or Joann Fabrics are under a dollar a piece - Black paint $1.25 and Ribbon between $.50 and $2.00 depending on which ribbon you use and a paint brush will run you about $.25.
ENJOY!
Paper Napkin Flowers by Creative Hostess
Aren't these paper napkin flowers by the Creative Hostess just the cutest? I love them! I also love that they are really inexpensive to make. All you need are paper napkins (which you can find at your local dollar store or Walmart for super cheap) , string, pipe cleaners, ribbon or staples what ever you have in the house will work.

Birthday Printables by Dimple Prints
When my daughter informed me that she wanted a Cat in the Hat birthday this year I was stumped. I am a sucker for homemade birthday parties and the past two years have made everything myself - Invites, banners, thank yous, etc. I have nothing to make a Cat in the Hat birthday. Cricut does not make a Dr. Seuss cartridge. What was I to do? I began searching on Etsy for homemade Cat in the Hat birthday parties and stumbled upon a little treasure from Dimple Prints. Their DIY Seussish Printable Party Package was just what I was looking for and for $10.00 how could I pass that up!
Their package came with so much it was unbelievable. Happy Birthday Banner, Party Hats, Favor Tags, Various food label/place card designs (flat & tent), Cupcake toppers, Invitations (fill-in style), Thank You Notes-Favor Box, Welcome Signs, Party Signs - games, prizes, coat check, etc., Large Pennant Banner, Small Pennant Banner (high chair bunting), T-Shirt Design (requires printable transfer paper), Door & Chandelier Decorations, Cupcake Wrappers, Patterned Papers, Water Bottle Wraps, Juice Wraps, Instructions & more! I was very impressed!
They have a lot of $10.00 printables to choose from. Under The Big Top , Construction..Loads of Fun and Sweet Cookies & Milk just to name a few.

I love all of Dimple Prints printables that I will definitely be using them again for sure.
I would order these printables in plenty of time before your party. There is so many pages of printables that you will want to go through in advance to pick and choose what you want to print. Make sure that you print them on card stock for durability.
My daughter's birthday is not until the end of March and I have already have our printables. I am so glad that I ordered them when I did. There is so much that I want to print and put together. This way I will have all the leg work done long before her party happens and I can just relax and enjoy her party. Not to worry I will totally share her party with you when it happens!
